This morning began with breakfast in a bar at Porta Genova (the metro station). I had Caffé Macchiato and brioche with crreeeeeaaaaaaaam. Delicious. And just 1,80. Still, today is a sad, sad day. I left the fabulous Milan at 10 am for beloved Lund (arrived at 16.30 p.m.), still I will always prefer a rainy Milan to a sunny Lund. Immer and always. I belong in the fashion capitals of the world. I do feal more at ease there. Beautiful buildnings and beauiful people make me feel more harmonious, and calm. Don't ask me why. I think the hectic trafic, confusion and over-populated streets are somewhat soothing. I feel safe. The smog and stress feels like a soft pillow to me. It is moi. Je suis folle! But I am madly in love with cosy Lund too.
Sunday was a quite cultural day. I have always though sundays ought to be spent in museums and libraries. We went to lifestyle store Corso Como 10, which is the creation of one of the Sozzani sisters. And, I loved it. Though it was rainy outside the fab bar was almost crowded. Surrounded by petit birds and green plants it was quite a harmonious inner garden/courtyard. The book and music section there is outstanding. If the Armani Superstore bookshop was good, this was even better. I have never seen such a collection of art and fashion books. I could have bought 'em all. Not to speak of all the clothes - from Balmain to haute couture and an exclusive selection of different perfums. You shouldn't miss this!
Then we went on to Brera, probably the most expensive quartier in Milan. The poshness is just everywhere, and I adore the large boulevards and 19th century architecture. This is where I hope to find my Milan apartment eventually. We entered the pinacoteca which currently hosts a Raffaelo collection, which I did not want to miss, still we needed to do some shoe shopping. It is not far to walk from Brera to the Dome. Just follow via Brera (it changes name though) down to la Scala and you'll pretty much be in Piazza Duomo.
The evening was spent at home, eating pizza (ricotta, pomodorini, mozzarella), still Old Fashion in Parco Sempione has aperitivo from 20.30-00.00 and there are excellent DJs. This was our original plan. Though, it is much better in summer when the bar opens up into the parc. The same goes for Just Cavalli Bar (also in Parco Sempione), both are better when summer approaches adn the outside temperature is above 20 degrees. The offical opening day is around 4th of May. If you visit Milan this summer, don't miss out!
Thank you Elisabetta for a wonderful stay. See you next in Milan during fashion week!!
